The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year of 2013. The Department has expanded significantly and now offers a B.E.- Mechanical Engineering course with a well-qualified and experienced team of faculty specialised in various fields of Mechanical Engineering who are dedicated to providing quality education.

It gives me great pleasure and honour to welcome you to AIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical engineering is one of the most diverse professional disciplines, with applications in power generation, manufacturing, energy, repair and maintenance, automation and control, robotics, and so on. Our primary goal is to motivate, inspire, and instill trust and confidence in students. They are also taught interdisciplinary topics such as the environment, civics, and entrepreneurship. I'd like to reach out to all of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends during this challenging and exciting time. Programme Overview

Mechanical engineering is a branch of engineering that analyses, designs, manufactures, and maintains mechanical systems using fundamental physics and material science principles. The Department was established in 2013 and has grown significantly since then.

The Department is always promoting renewable energy activities, and students are actively involved in the manufacture of renewable energy products. A highly qualified and experienced faculty team specialising in various fields of Mechanical Engineering is dedicated to providing quality education.


Mechanical engineers work on the design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, control, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, which include any system with a moving part.

Manufacturing, Energy, Robotics and automation, Design and Development, Automobile, Aerospace, Refrigeration, Quality Control, Marine, and Metals & Materials are the major career options for mechanical engineers.
